Benton County Historical Society’s Corvallis Museum features 4 galleries of exhibitions comprising art, artifacts, textiles, specimens, and more from the Society’s collections, including the legendary Horner Collection, formerly at Oregon State University. The Museum’s mascot, Bruce the Moose, greets you in the museum lobby.

The Corvallis Museum is currently open to the public Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm. Benton County has moved to Low Risk as of 5/21/21, allowing the museum to host 50 visitors at a time, or 25 every half hour. The Corvallis Museum will continue to use timed ticketing to assure that we stay under our allotted capacity. Walk-ins are welcome when we have space!

Corvallis Museum: Know Before You Go

FAQ

  • Are timed tickets the same as admission?  Are they required?

The purpose of timed ticketing is only to reserve the right number of spaces for your group, like a restaurant reservation, in the chosen 1-hour time slot. Admission is determined on arrival (see below). Now that we can have 50 total visitors in the museum, we have plenty of capacity to accommodate walk-ins, and will be dropping the reservation system in July.

  • What is the price of admission? Why can’t I pay online?

Admission is $5 for non-members, and is paid at the desk on arrival. Admission is free to Benton County Historical Society members, youth 18 and under, and college students with ID. Please bring your membership card (if you’re a member) and e-ticket/printout to enter. SimpleTix is not able to check membership or ID, so it is easier to take payments on arrival.

  • How do I cancel my reservation?

Cancellations can be emailed to Rachael@bentoncountymuseum.org (please include date, time, and number of tickets), or use the cancel link in the confirmation email. Since it doesn't cost anything to make a reservation, and we have a higher capacity now, it really only matters if you have a large group. However, we still appreciate the heads up, as it helps us to schedule breaks.

  • Can I change the day or time of my visit?

Yes, you can reserve new e-tickets on the SimpleTix site, and then cancel the previous ones by email or using the cancel link in the confirmation email. If you use the link, make sure the confirmation email corresponds to the times you’d like to cancel. Since we have more space now, you can also just come as a walk-in at your chosen time.

  • How do I become a member?

Memberships can be purchased or renewed at the front desk or store. They are also now available on our store website, https://Corvallis-Museum.square.site. Members may use guest passes for non-members.

Please review the following requirements for your visit:

  • Wear a Face Covering To help all our visitors feel at ease, we will continue to encourage visitors to wear masks. If visitors do not have a face covering, single-use face coverings will be provided at no charge. Thank you for taking this precaution to protect our visitors and staff.

  • Maintain Distance Please keep 6 feet of distance between yourself and visitors outside your party.

  • Other safety precautions you will notice on your next visit:

Hand sanitizing stations installed at the museum lobby and store.

Designated one-way path to maintain required distancing as visitors enter, exit, and enjoy our exhibitions.

Limited building capacity to a maximum of 50 people, plus staff, in the museum at one time. For those concerned about capacity, we have never been close to the 50 visitor limit for our building in the Low Risk category, so visiting the museum will continue to be a pretty low risk indoor activity.

The Konick Family Museum Store has a current maximum of 6 people at a time, plus staff. The store does not require timed ticketing or admission, and is open the same public hours as the museum.
