Description

Cradle Gardening Orientation

If you love Elmwood Cemetery and have a passion for gardening, we invite you to join a special program dedicated to bringing flowers back to the oldest active garden-style cemetery in Memphis.

What are cradles?
These long, marble grave markers were placed generations ago and once held living plantings. Many have been without flowers for a hundred years or more — but with your help, we can restore their beauty.

Join us for a 30-minute presentation on Saturday, March 21st at 9:30 am in the Elmwood Chapel. During this session, Elmwood staff and volunteers will share program details, collect participant information, and assign carefully chosen cradles for adoption.

This is a volunteer-based program with no fee to participate. Volunteers are asked to provide their own plants and gardening supplies. Participation in this program is a year-long commitment.

Registration is required and limited, and we encourage you to partner with a trusted gardening friend.

Orientation training is required.

We look forward to growing something beautiful together!
