Description

This event is for CRS members only. Learn more about membership at CRS here.

We launch our celebration of America's 250th Birthday with tours of two exhibitions:

"Self-Made: A Century of Inventing Artists" takes a critical look at the historical definition of the “self-taught artist” in the United States from the early twentieth century to today.

"Folk Nation: Crafting Patriotism in the United States" draws from the American Folk Art Museum’s rich collections to explore links between vernacular art and the construction of an American sense of self.

This visit is made possible by CRS Congregant and President of the Board of Trustees of the American Folk Art Museum, Elizabeth V. Warren.

CRS Outings is made possible by generous support from Marcia and David Lavipour, and Maxine Schweitzer. No refunds will be issued within 14 days of the event start date. All requests must be made in writing to crs@crsnyc.org.
