Cupid's Heart:

This band is busting out of Sasktchewn on a 15 show tour spanning Sask, Manitoba, and Ontario-. A combination of the unruly and the refined- Cupid’s Heart uses cello, electric guitar, drum machine, and low female vocals in an exploration of alt-rock. Moody and dynamic, Cupid’s Heart weaves together an energizing, entrancing atmosphere. Previously described as “Chrissie Hynde Pretenders vibes with a pinch of Nirvana”, alternative rock fits them like a baggy sweater. Lyrically poetic, Cupid’s Heart expresses some of the complexities that go along with love and life, and does so from a queer female perspective. The pair are currently based in Prince Albert, SK. Their debut EP, Atrium, was released July 2023, a year that also saw the pair nominated for a SaskMusic Award.

Hansel:

Hansel is candles lit, 3 deep breaths, hugs for all my friends and lovers. Hansel is shaking and moving like it’s what we deserve, trans joy, queer love and stories from a soft and squishy heart. Hansel is far out synths, timid, twinkling vocals and melodies that wrap you in honey and magic. Hansel is warm sounds and sweet feelings.

Anastasia Jane:

Anastasia Jane (she/ her) is a singer-songwriter from Brandon Manitoba. She is a proud transgender woman and has actively performed in the Manitoba area since the late 1980s (in various incarnations).

Her song, No One Can Eradicate Me (NOCEM) was featured as the Song of the Week by Manitoba Music in November 2023. The song was written in response to anti-trans and anti-queer rhetoric and policies that have been growing throughout Canada and internationally.

Anastasia’s first album, called Confessions from a Closet, was released in spring 2022 and is an autobiography of her transition journey. Her second album “House of Jane” was released in November 2023.

Anastasia can be seen regularly performing to audiences in the Westman area, sharing her musical gospel of rainbow coloured good news.
