Description

On March 21, 2023 at the mâmawêyatitân Center in Regina, SK there will be a professional dance performance and community talk-back. A diverse collective of dancers will perform and engage in discussions of experiences and stigmas around being cultural knowledge keepers and artists.

The show will feature professional dancers Derek Souvannavong, I-Ying Wu, Ayesha Mohsin, and Rod Belanger who will embody their journey as artists and express what they have learnt through their discussions with each other.

Dance is a form of living and cultural heritage both tangible and intangible. With this, we want to give an opportunity for audiences to engage with artists and presenters in hopes of sparking conversation with audiences for anti-racism and anti-appropriation education.

  • Keynote Speaker: Dr. Michèle Moss
  • Performance by four professional IBPOC dance/movement artists
  • Post Performance Talk Back with Artists Facilitated by Dr. Moss
