Description
Tender Offerings is excited to partner with the Union for Contemporary Art's Abundance Garden to offer a hands-on herbal workshop series rooted in seasonal living and reconnecting with the plants around us. These workshops are designed to help participants see everyday plants often overlooked as “weeds” as nourishment, medicine, and community knowledge.
Part 1: Harvest & Process (Saturday, July 11 from 10:00a.m. - 12:00 p.m.)
Participants will learn how to work with one of the most abundant and overlooked plants, dandelion. In this hands-on session, we will identify and respectfully harvest dandelion from the garden, learn how to process each part of the plant, and discuss the nutritional and traditional uses of dandelion.
Part 2: Create & Taste (Saturday, July 18 from 10:00a.m. - 12:00p.m.)
In the second session, participants will experience dandelions through food and medicine. Together we will taste roasted dandelion root tea, sample dandelion pesto or fresh preparations, and make our own dandelion flower jelly.
Youth under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
