Lake Champlain Maritime Museum is a waterfront museum with classes, camps, boat building, rowing, and underwater research all committed towards building a healthy future for Lake Champlain. Exhibits and experiences connect people to our region’s history, ecology, and archaeology and create opportunities for hands-on learning that will last a lifetime. Through our work in water, on water, and underwater we inspire a new generation of leaders to shape the future for themselves and their communities.
Description
Come join us for a daytime row from Burlington Harbor out to Juniper Island for a picnic and swim!
We will leave Perkins Pier at 10:00 in gigs and skiffs and row out to the island, roughly a 3 + mile
distance , where we will be able to relax, swim if you want, eat your own picnic lunch, and row back to
Burlington Harbor around 2:00. The city has its annual fireworks that evening so stay for the
celebration and display if you choose.
Bring sunscreen, appropriate clothing and head wear, towel, your lunch and plenty of water. We will
provide PFD’s for everyone.
For youth rowers and members of any of the rowing clubs, there will be no fee. For anyone else, the
usual $10.00 plus service charge will apply when you sign up.
Hope you can join us!
