Join the African American Civil War Memorial on April 16 at 11:00 AM for the annual DC Emancipation Day Reading of the Names. Participants are invited to help commemorate the DC Compensated Emancipation Act by reading the names of those who were freed under the act and honoring their journey to freedom.
