In the Baptist backwoods of the Bible Belt, the beleaguered Turpin family proves that living and dying in the South are seldom tidy and always hilarious. Despite their earnest efforts to pull themselves together for their father's funeral, the eccentric community of backbiting misfits and their antics keep overshadowing the solemn occasion. The sharp dialogue has plenty of laughs, dark humor and sentiment with a no holds barred approach to laugh-out-loud moments in this popular comedy.
