You find yourself in an underground (like, deep underground) dance club. 

A small token is given to you upon entry, imbued with great power:

You decide how the night will go.

Will the crowd keep course, or will you be brave and go against the current?

death by disco is a prototype dance club concept.

We're testing out the mechanics of a new narrative nightclub experience, and need your feedback! How it works:

  • Entry is free - but a $5 suggested donation is encouraged. One $5 entry gets you one voting token.
  • For each $5 you donate over the suggested amount, we'll give you an extra voting token.
  • All Access Pass Members get 5 tokens on entry without an additional donation.
  • You can also earn extra tokens through buying the special drinks crafted for this event (1 per drink purchase)
  • You can pay at the door - but all RSVP's before 6pm on April 30th get an extra voting token!

Over the course of the night, you can use your tokens to vote for how the vibes will change. Do you keep the night groovy and funky? Do you shift us towards jazz or pop? Drop those tokens in the baskets by the DJ to cast your vote!

Periodically through the night the tokens will be counted, and the vibes will shift or stay the same accordingly.

Disco wear & outfits inspired by Greek mythology are strongly encouraged!

First Take Co. is an entertainment company, arts incubator, and professional development hub that gives multifaceted makers the space to explore areas of their artistry that are inaccessible through conventional means. 

 

Founded by alumni from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and Great River Shakespeare Festival, First Take Co. is an itinerant company that champions the work of its ensemble by highlighting its developmental works while simultaneously partnering with other nonprofit organizations to craft bespoke events.
