About the Online Conference
DEATHCon is the annual cybersecurity conference fully dedicated to Detection Engineering and Threat Hunting. This ticket is for the Online / Remote version of the conference: you will get access to 100% of the same workshop materials, the workshop leaders help via Discord chat, the same threat hunting lab server resources, and all the same competitions as everyone else attending the conference anywhere in the world. You will also have a chance to submit a lightning talk, which we call "Sudden DEATH" if you so choose. The only things you do NOT get to have with the online/remote ticket are food for lunch, dinner and a party Friday night, and the in-person company of fellow DEATH practitioners. There will also be some workshops given live at some of the sites, but rest assured it will be the same workshop material as the online version, so you don't miss any learning content.
The reason we designed it this way is because we know you can't always travel or want to travel, and we wanted to provide as high quality learning experience as possible from the comfort of your home. We do remote work, so why shouldn't we use the same tools to provide a rich remote conference experience?
About Scholarships
We priced the tickets lower than any workshop-based learning event we know of to make it as affordable as possible while still covering the cost of our lab and fund workshop leaders tickets, travel costs, and swag. However, we know that what seems very affordable to employed people in some countries is still extremely expensive for other economies, and for students and for the many of us looking for a new job. We used to do scholarships by application based on need, but we all felt that some people wouldn't apply because it's uncomfortable to have to ask for help.
So, we started doing something different: we set aside a big chunk of the tickets (more than 10% of them) as pay-what-you-want pricing. That means that if $170 USD is too much, you can choose the amount that makes sense for your economy and your employment situation, no questions asked, no need to ask anyone for assistance.
If you can afford the ticket (especially if your work is going to pay for it) please choose the full-price ticket option! That lets us save as many tickets as we can for those who need a lower price.
DEATHCon is community-organized cybersecurity learning event dedicated to making Detection Engineering and Threat Hunting learning available and accessible to everyone who wants to learn. We focus on hands-on workshops to learn by doing. Each November, we host a two day learning event with multiple workshops with in-person locations hosted in many countries around the world, and all workshops available online for those who don't want to travel.
In May 2026, we're also hosting another event in Dublin, Ireland for 100 participants to learn from live instructors in three workshops!
