Thank You, Workshop Leader
Thank you so much for agreeing to share your time, your skills, and your enthusiasm for your subject with attendees at DEATHCon this year! We expect about 1024 attendees and the reason they come is to learn from you and the other workshop leaders. We're going to advertise the details of your workshop and there will surely be at least some people who buy a ticket mainly because they want to learn from you! It's a wonderful responsibility and we know you'll take it seriously.
In case of emergency...
The last thing that anyone wants is to cancel a workshop after it was announced and people bought tickets. It sometimes happens because life sometimes throws us emergencies, and if so, we will understand. However, we'd like to set you up for success as best we can.
The number one thing you can do is prepare your workshop early! You have from now until All Hallow's Eve (31 October) to complete your video and materials, but there is no reason at all why you can't plan to get it done on October 1st instead! Give yourself lots of runway and buffer, then you won't have trouble if something comes up in late October! Tell us what you need in the lab and help us get it set up the way you like it.
Workshop Leader Agreement
By completing this form, you agree to submit your completed workshop video and attendee materials (any lab guides, etc.) no later than All Hallow's Eve (31 October)
You agree that you will be available online via Discord during normal daytime hours in your time zone on 13 and 14 November to answer questions from attendees who are doing your workshop. Remember the conference starts in Melbourne, Australia time, which might be 12 November in your time zone, so consider getting on for a bit early if you can.
If you are attending on-site, Randy will pay the full price of your ticket to the local site leader - if you cancel, you agree that you will repay this price (not applicable if attending online). If the site leader is able to re-sell that ticket, then you are off the hook, you don't have to repay it.
If you asked for and received travel assistance from DEATHCon to fly / train to a site and you cancel your workshop, you agree to repay all the travel cost that was paid by DEATHCon.
DEATHCon is community-organized cybersecurity learning event dedicated to making Detection Engineering and Threat Hunting learning available and accessible to everyone who wants to learn. We focus on hands-on workshops to learn by doing. Each November, we host a two day learning event with multiple workshops with in-person locations hosted in many countries around the world, and all workshops available online for those who don't want to travel.
In May 2026, we're also hosting another event in Dublin, Ireland for 100 participants to learn from live instructors in three workshops!
