The Depot, located in the historic Santa Fe Train Depot, is an arts organization and event venue. It produces the Summer Breeze Concert Series, The Depot Gallery, Depot Concerts, Depot TV, and serves as the venue for community gatherings, workshops, and events. Description
This class will be a lesson in painting with pastel and graphite pencil on toned paper, using the two mediums together to create forms and brilliant color quickly. We’ll draw from still life setups, first using pencil line. Then using dry pastels, we’ll add color and highlights. There will be a one hour break for lunch and the supply list will be sent to you once a ticket is purchased.
Debby Kaspari is a Norman-based painter, illustrator, sketcher, and teacher. Her pastel/graphite technique grew out of a strong desire to start adding color to her drawings using some sort of simple portable media. Dry pastel, combined with graphite, became her go-to medium. She has taught this technique online and in person, and has contributed instructional articles for The Artists Magazine.
