DELTA EGYPTIAN FILM FESTIVAL: STUDENT SHOWCASES

When our community helped save the Egyptian’s screen, it gave us the opportunity to do something wonderful with it: hand it to the next generation of Western Slope storytellers.

Join us for three student showcases featuring original work from Colorado Mesa University, the Film Exposure Program, and CMU Tech. Come celebrate bold new voices and give these talented young filmmakers the big-screen welcome they deserve!

12:00 p.m. — High School Film Exposure Program

The Film Exposure Program is an eight-session narrative filmmaking intensive created for rural Colorado high school students. Working with professional filmmakers and industry equipment, students receive hands-on experience in screenwriting, cinematography, lighting, sound, acting, directing, and editing before collaborating to produce an original short film.

Created through the Fall 2025 Film Exposure Program, The Arrival is a collaborative narrative short showcasing the work of emerging Western Colorado filmmakers as they put their training in writing, acting, cinematography, sound, directing, and editing into practice.

An exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the multimillion-dollar feature film Bonding, filmed in Dolores, Colorado. The documentary follows local college students and recent graduates as they gain hands-on experience and navigate their roles on a professional film set.
