Plainfield Arts presents: Diana Fanning

Sunday, March 8th at 4:00 PM
Plainfield Opera House
$20 suggested donation, online or at the door

Renowned pianist Diana Fanning has curated a recital program that honors her fifty-year teaching career at Middlebury College. This concert will feature Chopin’s Sonata in B Minor, a masterpiece of the Romantic era, and Janácek’s On an Overgrown Path, a deeply-moving, autobiographical piece that represents memories from the composer’s life. Favorite works by Beethoven and Debussy complete the performance.

"This is a program filled with music by composers whose names are quite familiar to classical music fans today, but who -- in their respective eras -- were viewed by many as startlingly original, and even as artistic revolutionaries, often doggedly defying their critics to advance their art form forward." – Benjamin Pomerance, Notes - Issue 32

This concert is presented by Plainfield Arts. Admission is by suggested donation; tickets are available online and at the door. The Plainfield Town Hall Opera House is wheelchair accessible and assisted listening devices are available upon request.

Admission is by suggested donation. Online ticket sales end 24 hours before the event. Tickets are also available at the door; walk-ups are welcome, unless the event page says "sold out"! Doors open at 3:30 PM for a 4:00 PM performance.
