Description
Get ready to be seduced, swindled, and swept off your feet as Dirty Rotten Scoundrels hits the Port Aransas Community Theatre in a glittering production that’s all charm, wit and devious con artistry.
Based on the hit 1988 film starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin, this Tony-nominated musical comedy follows two cunning conmen — the elegant, ruthless Lawrence Jameson, who has built his career by separating lonely, wealthy women from their fortunes, and his young competitor, the impetuous and “low-brow” Freddy Benson — as they go head-to-head on the French Riviera in a winner-takes-all game of deception. Their target? The sweet, unsuspecting American heiress, Christine Colgate. But in a world built on lies and manipulation, nothing — and no-one — is quite what they seem.
Scoundrels is a wild ride of toe-tapping tunes, hilarious satire and razor-edged elegance. Expect bold physical comedy and performances as dazzling as a Riviera sunset.
