Make All Your Wishes Come True with Aladdin, Jr.
Ring bells! Bang the drums! Are you gonna love this exciting stage adaptation of the legendary tale of the lovable thief with the heart of gold! For one night only on Saturday, February 10, 2024, join Aladdin, Jasmine, and the fast-talking, wisecracking Genie as they discover mystical caves, take magic carpet rides, and outwit the evil sorcerer, Jafar. Performed by youth from Florida Preparatory Academy, Disney’s Aladdin, JR will premiere for the first time at the Gleason Performing Arts Center in Melbourne, Florida.
Aladdin is a 1992 animated musical comedy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation, released by Walt Disney Pictures and in 2011, produced on Broadway as a musical. Aladdin, JR, adapted especially for young performers from the Broadway featured musical, includes favorite Alan Menken songs such as “Friend Like Me,” “A Whole New World,” and “Prince Ali,” as well as wonderful new songs added for the Broadway production. With new, colorful characters and non stop adventure, Disney’s Aladdin JR. is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for all ages!
Promoted by Florida Prep’s Fine and Performing Arts Department, Aladdin, Jr. will be performed for the first time on the stage of the Gleason Performing Arts Center, located on the campus of the Florida Institute of Technology, also known as Florida Tech. Florida Prep is a preparatory boarding academy school for 6th to 12th graders excelling in “preparing each student for life-long success and to create conscientious, dynamic global citizens and leaders,” the Academy’s mission since 1961. The Gleason Performing Arts Center is located at 150 W University Blvd, Melbourne, Florida. Parking is free in Florida Tech lots located just off Babcock Street.
Seating is general admission, based on a first-come, first-serve availability. Doors will open at 7:30 P.M. with an 8:00 P.M. curtain. The show is expected to last under 1-1/2 hours. Ticket prices range from $10 Adults, $8 Seniors age 60+/Students with ID, and $5 for children ages 10 and under. Individual tickets can be purchased in advance either on-line at www.flprep.com or by calling the Performing Arts Classroom, PAC #54 at (321) 723-3211, ext. 154. Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Florida Prep Welcome Center located at 1950 South Academy Drive, Melbourne, Florida. Group tickets are also available by calling PAC #54.
