DJANGO'S JEWELS
If you combined punk rock energy with World War II era jazz, you'd get Django's Jewels. The Jewels are a swingin' retro jazz band from the west coast who offer their own take on jazz from a bygone era, singin' and swingin' their way through standards from the 1930s and 40s. Many amazing musicians join the Jewels on their musical journey--joining the Jewels at Redbird will be Joe Abbott (clarinet), Aaron Loewen (guitar), Stefan Bienz (upright bass) and Paul Townsend (drums).
JOE ABBOTT
Joe Abbott is known as a big musician guy around town. Often he’s saying “toot toot!” On his clarinet but sometimes he might say “oh buddy!” Or “dogfood daddy!” He also enjoys swimming in lakes and playing with a variety of great Canadian groups. He recently put out a bangin solo country album, where he strums his guitar and singin his little heart out.
