Donation Appointments for August Garage Sale Occasional Shop 2022

Description

Donate your textile and fiber art supplies to Textile Center's Garage Sale Occasional Shop - located at our new space at the Art+Architecture building,(3338 University Ave SE, Mpls)!

Donations are accepted by appointment only (for COVID-19 safety) with 10 minute time slots on Thursday, August 11, 2022, from 12:30 - 5:30 pm, at the Art+Architecture building (back entrance).

Select an available time slot and submit information to schedule your donation appointment. One donation appointment per household. If you donated already this summer, please allow others to have a first opportunity. If you have a small amount to donate, please consider coordinating with others to maximize appointment times.

Donation info:

• For a list accepted donation items, click here.
• Personal vehicles only - no large trucks, trailers, or commercial vehicles. (Contact ngross@textilecentermn.org to inquire about a future donation opportunity.)
• Prepare your donations in (non-returnable) BOXES or BINS only - no bags will be accepted.
• DO pre-sort donations by category within each box (fabric in one, yarn in another, books in another, etc). 
• DON'T put prices on your donations.
• Place boxes/bins and items to be donated in your trunk or back seat for easy access by our unloaders. 
• August exception: NO large tools/equipment (No cabinet sewing machines, floor looms, large table looms, etc) due to space constraints. (Contact ngross@textilecentermn.org for additional donation opportunities for these items.)  
• Portable working sewing machines, sergers, rigid heddle looms, tapestry looms, and portable knitting machines are accepted. 

Donation location: 

• Art+Architecture building, 3338 University Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414
• Donation drop off is at the BACK entrance of the building, on Prospect Terrace SE
• From eastbound University Ave SE, turn right on Bedford Ave SE, and then a quick right onto Prospect Terrace SE
• From westbound University Ave SE, turn left onto Bedford St SE, and then a quick right onto Prospect Terrace SE
• Follow the drive to the dead end/upper parking lot. Unloading attendants will greet you near the orangish door
• Show your appointment ticket on your mobile phone, or a print out of your appointment ticket, with QR code for scanning
• Stay in your car and wear a mask
• Please be on time! (If you're early, please wait in parking lot at the corner of University Ave SE and Bedford St - 3350 University Ave SE)
• In-kind donations are tax-deductible  - your email ticket confirmation acts as your receipt. 
• If you have a small amount to donate, please consider coordinating with others to maximize appointment times.
