Donation Appointments - Textile Garage Sale for fabric enthusiasts! September 2023

Donate your textile and fiber art supplies to Textile Center's September Textile Garage Sale for fabric enthusiasts!

Located at Textile Center (3000 University Ave SE)

Donations are accepted by appointment only, with 10 minute time slots on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 11 am - 7 pm.

Select an available time slot and submit information to schedule your donation appointment. One donation appointment per household.  If you have a small amount to donate, please consider coordinating with others to maximize appointment times.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a themed sale for fabric enthusiasts, and we are only accepting certain items.

 

ACCEPTED ITEMS:

• Batting
• Books: Sewing books only
• Fabric: Fabric must be larger than a “fat quarter,” or a one-fourth yard cut that measures roughly 18 x 21 (NO SCRAPS!). Please roll and tape smaller fabric bundles. Mark yardage and fiber content, if known.
• Global Textiles
• Needlework: Canvas, needlework tools, embroidery floss & materials
• Notions: Buttons, zippers, trims, ribbons, threads, embellishments, sewing needles, etc.
• Sewing Patterns
• Sewing Machines: Portable sewing machines ONLY, in working condition – please include bobbins & cords. NOT accepting sewing machines in cabinets.
• Tools: Small hand tools such scissors, cutting mats, rulers
• Vintage Fabrics & Trims

PREPARING YOUR DONATION:

• Prepare your donations in (non-returnable) BOXES or BINS only - no bags will be accepted.
• DO pre-sort donations by category within each box (fabric in one, books in another, etc).
• DON'T put prices on your donations.
• Place boxes/bins and items to be donated in your trunk or back seat for easy access by our unloaders. 
•  Due to space constraints, NO large tools/equipment.  (We do accept portable sewing machines.)

REMINDERS:

• Personal vehicles only - no large trucks, trailers, or commercial vehicles. (Contact ehusted@textilecentermn.org to inquire about a future donation opportunity.)
• In-kind donations are tax-deductible  - your email ticket confirmation acts as your receipt. 
• If you have a small amount to donate, please consider coordinating with others to maximize appointment times.
