Description
DPS Cultural Engagement & Inclusion FOC & MOC has teamed up with Five River Metro Parks for our Annual Passport to Fishing 1 Day intro to Fishing Engagement. We will be starting with some demonstration stations of knot tying and how to put the worm/sinker/bobber on the hook, then some discussion and demonstration of how to properly handle the fish when we have caught them and we are taking them off the hook and returning them to the water. And a short chat about fish habitat and what we can do to keep it healthy for them. Then we will move outside to do some practice casting! Once everyone is comfortable with casting the line, we will then head back to the pond and put all that we have learned into practice and try and catch some fish! All fish are catch and release, and this particular pond is not open to public fishing as it is just for educational programming.
