Rena x Duns have been friends and cheerleaders for each other’s work for years and have joined forces to create a snapshot of who they are as artists in this moment in time. Grace Lee Boggs asks, “What time is it on the clock of the world?” Duns and Rena, through their art, courageously look at the hours, minutes, and seconds and tell listeners what they see. Join them for an evening of ritual and music where they’ll share solo work as well as songs from their forthcoming collaborative EP.
About the Artists:
Duns (he/him) is a West Philly hip-hop artist, conflict expert, and clown who has brought his gifts and talents to schools, communities, retirement homes, and festivals all over the country. He is a middle child living in an intergenerational home, and his art reflects his belief that every individual has a gift to offer community and every community has a responsibility to nurture the gifts of its individuals. Rena Branson (she/they) is a Jewish composer, ritual leader, and educator who uplifts personal and collective healing through song. Her work invites people to slow down together and replenish our energy for the work of transformation. Rena facilitates heart-opening singing and prayer gatherings across Turtle Island. Sliding scale from $1–$99.99 (all sales final). Folks under age 18 come for free. Thanks for reflecting on a contribution that is both generous and feasible for you! Tickets go towards producing Duns x Rena's EP.
Accessibility:
This event will be outdoors in a backyard, weather-permitting. There are 2 steps up to get to the yard, and the pavement in the yard has some chunks missing. There’s a restroom on the first floor of the house which would be 5 steps from the back yard or 7 steps from the front sidewalk. Please come without covid symptoms.
