Ecstatic Dance is an opportunity to connect with your body and community with free form expressive dance. We will be honoring the container of the space, which includes:

Our featured artist for this dance is FATHER OTTER!
FATHER OTTER (Nash Atkins) is a lifelong disciple of music. Learning piano at the age of 7 has dovetailed into a myriad of genres, cultures, and approaches to the musical terrain. Over the last 10 years he has traveled all over the US offering sound journeys, live musical performances, and DJ sets across intentional gathering spaces. He draws from a deep well of musical knowledge put into practice with experiential spiritual awareness and full presence. Employing a powerful mix of droning sounds, hypnotic guitar playing, complex harmonies and alluring primal beats — Father Otter connects the listener inward and upward in the spirit of expression, evolution, transformation, and celebration.

Closing Sound Meditation with Melissa officinalis & Father Otter
We will gently land our dance with a special Closing Sound Meditation with Elana Kaufman and Melissa officinalis, featuring live instruments such as guitar, shruti box, koshi chimes, harmonium, shakers, rain stick, singing bowls, and vocals, including call and response mantra, and guided meditation. Please feel welcome to bring a blanket to sit or lay on for this experience.
Melissa officinalis (Melissa Scheibner) is a sound meditation practitioner, ecstatic dance facilitator and DJ, herbalist, and community organizer. Her artist name comes from the botanical name for the plant Lemon Balm, whose plant spirit medicine is uplifting and grounding. She is passionate about bringing community together for holistic experiences, connecting with mind, body, spirit, and nature.
