Ecstatic Dance is an opportunity to connect with your body and community with free form expressive dance. We will be honoring the container of the space, which includes:
✨ limiting conversation on the dance floor, this keeps the energy flowing (there will be a designated space and time to chat)
✨ we invite you to explore the shoe-less experience of dancing barefoot on the Earth
✨this is a substance free event
✨no phones on the dance floor, be present

Our featured artist for this dance is Jennayni!
Jennayni is a DJ, recording artist, and audio/visual multimedia specialist whose work embodies the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Peru and the world. Born and raised in Peru, Jennayni infuses her music with the influences of indigenous, African, and European traditions, creating a unique sound that celebrates the multifaceted nature of Peruvian culture.
Her music highlights the importance of these diverse sounds, representing the essence of Peru through a fusion of electronic global DJ culture and ancestral traditions. Jennayni stands as a representative of Peru’s cultural diversity, blending ancient sounds with contemporary electronic music to create new, innovative compositions that connect with the global & electronic music scene. Additionally, her work encompasses soul and inspirational music, adding depth and emotional resonance to her performances.

We will gently land our dance with a special Closing Sound Meditation with Melissa officials and Jennayni, featuring live instruments such as shruti box, koshi chimes, rain stick, vocals, and live looping.
Please feel welcome to bring a blanket to sit or lay on for this experience.
Melissa officinalis (Melissa Scheibner) is an ecstatic dance facilitator and DJ, herbal medicine steward, sound meditation practitioner, and community organizer. She is passionate about bringing community together for holistic experiences, connecting with mind, body, spirit, and nature. She is a co-organizer of Hudson Valley Ecstatic Rhythms, founder of Hudson Valley Silent Disco, and has been organizing community events in the medicinal gardens at Tweefontein Herb Farm for the past four seasons.
