Ecstatic Dance is an opportunity to connect with your body and community with free form expressive dance. We will be honoring the container of the space, which includes:
✨ limiting conversation on the dance floor, this keeps the energy flowing (there will be a designated space and time to chat)
✨ we invite you to explore the shoe-less experience of dancing barefoot on the Earth

Our featured artist for this dance is Melissa officinalis!
Melissa officinalis (Melissa Scheibner) is an ecstatic dance facilitator and DJ, sound meditation practitioner, herbalist, and community organizer. Her artist name comes from the botanical name for the plant Lemon Balm, whose plant spirit medicine is uplifting and grounding. She is passionate about bringing community together for holistic experiences, connecting with mind, body, spirit, and nature.
Melissa officinalis has been facilitating Ecstatic Dance since 2019. She has spent many years dancing at Ecstatic Dances around the world, and collaborating with dance communities to host Ecstatic Dance Silent Discos around the country, including Ecstatic Dance OC in California, Ecstatic Dance Charleston in South Carolina, Exploring Within and at the Mauna Kea Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii, and at Dance Beyond Campout in the Berkshires. Melissa’s home base is in the Hudson Valley, as founder of Hudson Valley Silent Disco and Hudson Valley Ecstatic Rhythms, facilitating regular Ecstatic Dance Silent Discos at Tweefontein Herb Farm in New Paltz, and Ecstatic Dance at Assembly in Kingston.
Weaving beats from around the world, her sets are a heart opening journey, closing with live sound healing instruments.
