Description

Electrical cords power up our appliances, lights, and tools, but what can you do when they aren't working as they should? In this hands-on workshop you'll learn how to replace and repair cords and plugs on common power tools and household appliances, as well as safe use of extension cords.

The class will cover the basics of AC power, wire gauge and insulation types, and understanding markings on cables and cords. Learn to work with electrical equipment, measuring voltage and identifying, inspecting, and testing cables and cords - then practice your skills as a group by replacing the cord on a power tool, fixing a table lamp, and replacing a plug or connector on a power cable.

Examples are welcome, so if you have a damaged electrical cord, feel free to bring it in!
