EMERGE reveals not only new choreography, but the stories, questions, and ideas taking shape within the next generation of artists. Each work is bold, thoughtful, and deeply personal, brought to life by Gwinnett Ballet Theatre’s professional dancers.
A Close and Immersive Experience
Set in the Arona Theater at the Sugarloaf Performing Arts Center, this experience is intentionally close, drawing the audience into the space where artistry is formed. With limited seating, every moment feels immediate and connected, allowing you to experience the energy, vulnerability, and beauty of dance in its most authentic form.
Created and Produced by the Dancers
What makes EMERGE truly special is that it belongs to the dancers. This is their vision, their choreography, their planning, and their voice. Beyond the stage, they are also responsible for outreach, marketing, social media, and advertising. They actively participate in promoting the performance, engaging the community, and building an audience for their work.
Preparing the Future of the Arts
As Gwinnett Ballet Theatre continues to grow as a professional company, EMERGE plays a vital role in preparing the next generation of choreographers and artistic directors. Through this process, dancers gain experience not only in the artistic side of a production, but also in the executive side of a company. They learn how to create, manage, and present a full production from concept to completion, developing the leadership skills necessary to sustain and advance the arts.
