Description

Join us for the fourth session of our Spring Project Series! Whether you're interested in following the build progress of our 12' rowing skiff,  learning some new techniques,  or are seriously contemplating building your own boat for a blissful summer on the lake... this series will have something for everyone.  No experience necessary!

Our fourth session provides a primer on Epoxy. This bundle of content includes an introductory handout, Video Demo, and a detailed guide to the various types of Epoxy products on the market. Our Instructor Evan demonstrates proper epoxy adhesive application as he joins the splines and transom pieces for our skiff.

*This session is recorded content. There is not a corresponding LIVE event. Registrants will receive a link  to access the videos and accompanying materials and can peruse on their own timeline. Registration is available through the end of May.

Instructor Evan Mathiason is a lifelong woodworker. He recently completed an apprenticeship at the Arques School of Wooden Boatbuilding, focusing on traditional methods of construction, and is excited to share that experience with the MTL community through our Spring Project Series. Evan also has an interest in hand tool skills and green woodworking - including spoon and bowl carving.  In his professional life, he's worked in politics, art, and commercial photography. Recently,  he has been devoting most of his time to raising two young children, gardening and doing organizing work as a volunteer with MN350.  He lives with his wife and kids on the West side of St Paul and hopes to continue expanding his practice of wood craft.
