Experimental Papermaking with Textiles

Description

An introduction to creative methods of papermaking with textile materials. Students can continue exploring or be introduced to using textile fibers through sheet formation methods such as dipping and using a deckle box.  The workshop will cover using textile fibers in paper to create texture, visual interest, and tonal sheets.  In addition to building on the basics of sheet formation, students will explore creative methods such as embedding cloth and textile materials, combining pulps in a deckle box and using pigments.  Students can expect to create a sampler of papers, as well as unique works using textile materials.
