Description

Join us at the picturesque Sonoma Garden Park on November 4, 10:00 am-12:15 pm for a captivating workshop focused on water-wise, sustainable gardening in the face of climate challenges. As gardening enthusiasts, we all strive for lush landscapes that not only enhance the beauty of our surroundings but conserve water and bolster fire resilience. At our exclusive event, "Gardening with Climate and Water at the Center," we will delve into this essential topic and explore innovative solutions. These solutions include harnessing the power of native plants and crafting landscape designs that harmonize with the natural terrain.

During this hands-on gathering, participants will gain valuable insights into selecting plants for various purposes, such as xeriscaping, attracting pollinators, enhancing fire resistance, and adding vibrant colors to their gardens. By the end of the workshop, you'll be well-equipped to transform your garden using water-wise California native plants. Don't miss this opportunity to expand your gardening knowledge.

This workshop includes an enriching tour of the Native Plant Nursery at Sonoma Garden Park. Sonoma Garden Park, a sanctuary nestled in eastern Sonoma, and a public park currently managed by Sonoma Ecology Center in collaboration with the City of Sonoma and other partners. At the Garden, you will be able to see Water-wise Demonstrations, developed by UC Master Gardeners of Sonoma County. Together, the park and Water-wise Demonstrations serve as both a recreational haven, a vital resource for preserving the area's natural beauty, and an example of water conservation and sustainable landscaping. Spanning across 6.1 acres, this remarkable property boasts diverse ecosystems alongside sustainable agricultural and landscaping systems, making it an invaluable asset to Sonoma Valley.
