¡WELCOME!

El Museo del Barrio invites visitors to explore its Fall 2022 Exhibitions, on view from October 27, 2022 to March 26, 2023. These include: 
 

Domesticanx, a show that brings together a group of intergenerational artists whose practices address the private sphere through works related to healing, spirituality, decoration, and the home. 
 

Juan Francisco Elso: Por América, an exhibition that investigates the brief yet significant career of the late Cuban artist Juan Francisco Elso (1956-1988), who gained international recognition in the early 1980s.
 

Reynier Leyva Novo: Methuselah, a digital artwork by the Cuban-born and Houston based artist Reynier Levya Novo that virtually reproduces the transnational migratory journey of a single monarch butterfly.

DURING YOUR VISIT 

Vaccination NOT required. El Museo is no longer requires proof of vaccination and ID to access Las Galerias (Galleries).

Face covering are strongly recommended:  All visitors over the age of two are strongly recommended to wear face coverings throughout your visit in Museum spaces, including Las Galerías, El Teatro, and El Cafe.  
Maintain physical distancing. Visitors should stay at least six feet (about two arms’ length) from others and groups.
Please follow directions from El Museo staff. Visitor capacity is controlled and reduced in Museum galleries.


GENERAL INFORMATION

Hours. El Museo del Barrio’s Galleries are open Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 11am to 5pm. 
Timed Tickets. We strongly recommend purchasing tickets online in advance. A limited number of same-day timed tickets will be available for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis every day at the Museum. Tickets are timed to help control building capacity.
Tourism Partners. For City Pass or New York Pass holders, please email emdbtickets@elmuseo.org to reserve your timed ticket.
Community Partners. For local and family organizations (i.e. Cool Culture) in partnership with El Museo, please refer to an email received from El Museo with your assigned discount code to be entered when reserving your ticket. For information, please email emdbtickets@elmuseo.org.
El Museo Amenities. During this time, we are taking extra precautions to ensure your experience is safe and pleasure. The Coat Check and El Café remain closed.

EL MUSEO DEL BARRIO MEMBERS

All El Museo individual and corporate members receive free admission. Individual Members will receive an email with a promotional code to be entered when utilizing your free admission benefit. You will also receive a welcome letter and corresponding ID card via mail, which can be used at the front desk and La Tienda. Corporate members will be contacted by Development with details pertaining to the use of their membership benefits. Walk-ins (non-timed ticket holders) will be granted admission based on availability.
