Description
During the Paint Off, participating plein air artists will create original works on-site in Historic St. Charles, working in two-dimensional media (painting and drawing only; no textiles or photography).
All submitted pieces will remain on display and available for purchase during the Wine Festival, September 19th.
Fall Riverfront Paint Off Sept 18-19
Friday, September 18- Paint Day at La Belle Vie / The Cafe at Frenchtown, 1200 N 2nd Street, St. Charles, Missouri
- Artists may check in to the event and paint
- Friday the 18th is not required attendance, and is non-competitive. Pieces produced can be displayed and sold on the 19th (but not entered for judging).
- Parking at La Belle Vie, on 2nd Street, public parking at Randolph, and parking at Good News Brewing across from La Belle Vie.
- Workshop 2-4:30pm "See Like an Artist: A Workshop in Value, Simplification & Speed" with Allison Laupp. If you opt to participate in the workshop, you will also receive a supply list.
- Welcome Reception Fri., 5pm, La Belle Vie. Light bites & refreshments.
Saturday, September 19
- Must check in and get canvas, panel, or paper stamped before painting. Please paint a separate subject than on Friday.
-Check-in table open 8am location TBD
- 3rd Annual St. Charles Wine Festival, La Fete du Vin on 2nd Street 3-8pm. Please note that part of the street will be closed for the Festival after noon on the 19th. Please plan parking accordingly.
- Artwork created on Friday will be displayed & for sale during Festival, exact location TBD
- Submit for judging 6pm, location TBD
- Awards to follow, time TBD
