Description

To move. To imagine. To be changed. Our Fall Concert of Dance: Epic Moments celebrates 45 years of dance through a powerful retrospective program featuring works all created within the walls of the Epic Center building since our move from the Park Trades Center.

We honor the legacy of our founder, Cori Terry, with a selection of iconic choreography. Experience the unforgettable moments of “Family Altar,” (2001) complete with original costumes by Elaine Kauffman and the striking set design by Paul Marquadt. Feel the driving pulse of the rhythmic quintet set to Blue Dahlia's "Dervish," (2002) and witness the spectacular full company lifts and lighting design in the work “At This Very Moment Breaking.” (2008)

The program is perfectly balanced with two recent works by Artistic Director Marisa Bianan. We are thrilled to revive the lively and dynamic work “The Ground Has Thawed,” originally premiered with the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra’s Burdick-Thorne String Quartet. This marks the first opportunity to see the complete work performed in its entirety in the intimate Cori Terry Theatre.

Finally, celebrate strength and unity with “Woven Together,” a work created for the YWCA's 140th anniversary. This piece is a unique display of empowerment, as six dancers move as one, dressed in Elaine Unzicker's magnificent, wearable art—a fusion of jewelry and chain mail.

In this short video, Demystifying the 2025 Fall Concert: Epic Moments, Wellspring's Artistic Director, Marisa Bianan, shares background about the Fall Concert and the wonder, artistry, and connection our company will create with audiences for an entirely new Epic Moment this fall.

This is more than a concert—it’s an essential chapter in Wellspring’s history. Join us for these truly Epic Moments.
