1010 Dale Street NorthIn this class, attendees will learn how to prepare their gardens for both the winter and eventual spring as well as how to best optimize those long months in between.
Ready or not, the Minnesota gardening season is coming to an end soon. In this class, we will cover fall tasks such as planting bulbs, dividing perennials, moving houseplants back inside, and putting down grass seed. Then, on to winter: this is the time to take an inventory of seeds and equipment, clean and sharpen tools, use plant catalogs and websites to plan for the upcoming spring, and maybe even start a few seeds. The joy of gardening doesn't need to end with the first freeze!
This class is developed and taught by the University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program. Ramsey County Garden Educators are eager to share research-based gardening best practices that promote healthy landscapes, healthy foods, and healthy lives with the people in their community.
