The Bunker kicks off its Fall Songwriter Series with an evening of original music from three distinct voices: VANCAMP, Tristan Konkle, and Meggi Faye.

VANCAMP

VANCAMP is a Peterborough indie-folk artist writing hooky, emotionally driven songs for people who want to say how they really feel. From soft-spoken fingerpicking to full-band barn-burners, VANCAMP crafts award-winning songs that walk the line between quiet vulnerability and crowd-lifting energy. Rooted in folk but drawing just as much from indie rock and alt-pop, the project pairs shimmering guitars and layered harmonies with raw, reflective songwriting. It began in the quiet moments of the pandemic and quickly found traction as live shows returned, rooted in a desire to connect with others through music that doesn't hide what it means.

In 2024, VANCAMP was named Emerging Artist of the Year by the Peterborough Folk Festival and took home top prize at the Don Skuce Memorial Songwriting Contest for the single "November." VANCAMP has built a reputation as a compelling live act, performing at venues from Peterborough's Sadleir House and Jethro's Bar to Toronto's Cameron House and Kingston's Grad Club, alongside festival appearances at the Peterborough Folk Festival, NXNE, Mariposa Folk Festival, Pride Toronto, the Road to Cultivate Festival, and GAINFEST.

As an independent artist, VANCAMP has the freedom to follow the songs wherever they need to go: an evolving project that can shift shape, stretch out, or pull back depending on what the moment calls for. Calvin leans into experimentation, allowing the project to grow naturally, shifting between sounds and stories as they feel most urgent. Every release is intentional, and that freedom keeps the songs honest.

Calvin has written with artists including Hawksley Workman, Melissa Payne, and Brooklyn Doran, and whether in the studio or on stage, VANCAMP continues to offer songs that meet people where they are: unpolished, sincere, and unafraid to say what they mean.

Tristan Konkle

From Peterborough, Ontario, Tristan Konkle has been crafting indie songs in his bedroom since picking up a guitar at age 12. Drawn early to the architects of late-20th-century pop, he brings a physical intent to his stage presence while keeping songwriting at the core of his artistic vision. Now stepping forward with his first solo material in 2026, Konkle is releasing a new song each month, building toward a full-length debut album by year's end.

Meggi Faye

Meggi Faye is a singer/songwriter living in Minto Township near Kitchener, Ontario, writing songs that come directly from the heart. Her raw and vulnerable storytelling leaves listeners moved, and her rich, calming voice has been compared to the sounds of Sarah Harmer and Feist. From complicated relationships to undying love for a child, her songs hit close to home.

Faye has released two albums, a self-titled EP in 2007 and "Radiant Sun" in 2014, with her new album "Piece It Back Together" expected out in October 2026. Five singles from the new record were released in 2025: "Moon & Back," "Messed Up Place," "Waiting on a Rainy Day," "Anchor," and "Washed Out."
