Description

Maestro José Luis Domínguez and the BCSO will present a lively and dramatic performance around the theme of animals, centered around Saint-Saëns’ beloved musical suite, The Carnival of the Animals.

The BCSO is pleased to feature its Youth Concerto Competition prize winner, 12-year-old violinist Mio Imai. Special guest instrumentalists will be the string players from Central Bucks elementary schools under the direction of Donna Hartzell.

What a wonderful way for the entire family to enjoy an afternoon of entertainment together! The program includes:

Johann Strauss, Jr: Overture to Die Fledermaus

Pablo de Sarasate: Zigeunerweisen, Op. 20

Mio Imai, violin (Youth Concerto Competition Winner)

Camille Saint-Saëns: The Carnival of the Animals

John Williams: Theme from Jurassic Park

Two Selections with the String Ensembles of Butler, Jamison and Mill Creek Elementary Schools (Donna Hartzell, director)
