Everglades City the birthchild of marketing magnate Barron Gift Collier is the 1st part of a walking tour that will meet at the old Atlantic Coast Line’s southernmost Railroad Depot in the late 1920’s. Historian Cesar A. Becerra will be your guide as we tour this burgh that would have become “another Miami” on the other side of the state. But history had its own plans and today it sits as a charming gem that is connected by a 5 mile causeway to a throwback of the Brickell’s time The Smallwood store situated on the corner tip of a giant Caloosa Shell Mound is a dead ringer for the Brickell trading post.
