Join us for the next installment of MODA's Passion to Practice series featuring artist, illustrator, and podcaster Carrie Cantwell. This dynamic session blends seminar, lecture, and hands-on exploration to guide participants through the journey of authentic self-expression in art.

About the Event

Carrie will share her inspiring journey from the film industry to creating licensed illustration and artwork, and helping others launch their own creative endeavors. Through stories, insights, and interactive moments, this dynamic session invites you to reflect on your creative process and explore what makes your artistic expression uniquely yours.

Whether you’re an emerging artist or simply curious about creativity, you’ll leave with fresh inspiration and practical ideas for expressing your most authentic self through art.

About Carrie Cantwell
Carrie Cantwell is an artist celebrated for her playful themes, bold colors, and wacky sense of humor, with a mission to create little moments that bring happiness to people's lives. With 16 years of experience as a film and TV graphic designer, she has created art for major motion pictures and award-winning TV shows, earning a nomination for an Art Director's Guild award. 

 

Her work has been featured on platforms such as NPR’s All Things Considered, TED, and multiple design magazines like UPPERCASE and Create! Magazine. Carrie’s illustrations have appeared in Society6’s Curator's Picks and Redbubble’s “Found,” while her patterns have been recognized in Project Run & Play and Spoonflower’s Editor’s Picks. She has exhibited at prestigious venues including the Denver Art Museum and the Museum of Design Atlanta and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design, a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a Master’s Certification in Project Management. Additionally, she is a SkillShare Top Teacher.

Accessibility: Designers with different styles of learning or special needs are welcome in MODA public programs. We will be able to most effectively help everyone learn and enjoy this experience if we know about those needs in advance of the program. Please email miranda@museumofdesign.org with questions or information.

Cancellation Policy: MODA reserves the right to cancel a program if the minimum enrollment requirements are not met, but don't worry: should MODA have to cancel, we will gladly issue a full refund to all registrants. If you need to cancel your plans for any reason, we kindly request that you notify us at least 7 days prior to the event start. By doing so, we can process a refund for the ticket cost (minus a small $10 processing fee per class). Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for cancellations made less than 7 days before an event.‌

Follow these instructions to update your SimpleTix account:

  • Click ‘Register Now’
  • In the Bottom Right Corner
  • Click ‘Login Now’ next to ‘Have a SimpleTix account?’ (We’ve created your account, you simply need to complete it)
  • Enter your email address associated with your MODA membership
  • Click 'Forgot My Password'
  • Follow the new email prompts to set up your new password
  • Login with your password
  • Select the event you wish to Register
  • Select quantity of tickets
  • Add to cart
  • Your discount should be applied
  • Proceed to Checkout
  • Enter your payment details
  • Receive your e-tickets to events
