Fishie Chimes with Becky Ziemer

January 11, 2026
1-4pm

Add some whimsy to your front porch or backyard in this fun, hands-on clay chime class. Your instructor, Becky Zee, will walk you through the creation of a clay windchime designed to look like an adorable fish catching a worm. You will learn basic ceramic techniques to create your own original hanging chime set. After you’ve created the parts and pieces, you will finish the whole project with a rainbow’s worth of colorful clay paints, all in one sitting!

All skill levels are welcome. Kids are welcome with an adult present (must be at least 10 years old, and all participants must have a ticket). All creations will be given a waterproof, clear glaze and fired off-site. Finished wind chimes will be brought back to the Memphis Botanic Garden for pickup 2 weeks after the class, complete with weatherproof rope and assembly instructions. Class fee includes all supplies and tools needed. Please wear clothes you feel comfortable getting clay or paint on.
