AMSEA is conducting a Fishing Vessel Drill Conductor class in Palacios, TX. Participants qualify for a reimbursement of up to $95 off the purchase price of their next PFD. This course is offered at a reduced cost to commercial fishermen thanks to support from the Texas Sea Grant, NIOSH, the U.S. Coast Guard, the Brownsville Independent School District, and AMSEA members. The class will cover these topics:

  • Flooding & Damage Control
  • Dewatering Pumps
  • Immersion Suits and PFDs
  • Abandon Ship Procedures

  • Cold-Water Survival Skills
  • Emergency Procedures Drills
  • Water Practicum

This course meets the US Coast Guard training requirements for drill conductors on commercial fishing vessels, 46 CFR 28.270(c).
