In partnership with the Florida High Tech Corridor, the Central Florida Tech Grove is offering this session providing valuable information to regional companies interested in working with the University of South Florida and/or the University of Central Florida to solve pressing research problems and expand their talent pipeline. 


 

The Florida High Tech Corridor Matching Grants Research Program can provide support for collaborative research projects between companies and University researchers. USF Program Director Elizabeth Nelson and UCF Program Director Jennifer McKinley will discuss how to engage with their Universities and the Corridor to build impactful collaborations that can grow your business and address critical needs in the defense modeling, simulation and training area as well as many other areas.  

 

What to Expect:

  • Learn more about the Florida High Tech Corridor, an economic organization of Central Florida’s three powerhouse public universities. The Corridor aligns opportunities and resources in academia, industry, and economic development to unleash our region’s exponential potential.
  • Gain insights into how the Matching Grants leverage your grant, contract or IR&D dollars to tap the innovation talent at the universities.
  • Understand the specifics of the Florida High Tech Corridor’s flagship Matching Grants Research Program and keys to a strong collaborative research project.
  • Hear some examples of how companies have used the Matching Grants Program to support developing solutions for modeling, simulation & training.
  • Connect with Program Directors at each University who can help your company build a mutually beneficial relationship with University researchers and their teams.

The Central Florida Tech Grove is a hub for accelerating collaboration and innovation in defense modeling, simulation, training, and human performance.  Tech Grove is located in the Central Florida Research Park in Orlando, Florida which is the epicenter of the nation's largest cluster of government, industry, academic, and industry organizations developing and delivering training and simulation products for our nation's military. Tech Grove was established in 2020 through a Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) between the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) and the University of Central Florida Research Foundation.  Eight other Department of Defense entities are Tech Grove members: US Army Program Executive Office for Simulation Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), US Air Force Agency for Modeling & Simulation (AFAMS), US Marine Corps Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS), US Army Simulation & Training Technology Center (STTC), US Army Futures Command Synthetic Training Environment Cross-Functional Team (STE CFT), Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL), Defense Health Agency (DHA), and the Office of Naval Research through the NavalX Central Florida Tech Bridge.
