Description

Join us for Flying a Gooney Bird in Canada’s North – The Rest of the Story at the Saskatchewan Aviation Museum on Monday, May 11 at 6 PM. Admission is $15, with advance tickets required.

Bush pilot Dorrin Wallace shares stories from a 40-year career flying across northern Canada, including Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, the territories, and beyond. From landing on floats, skis, and remote strips to flying the legendary Douglas DC-3, his experiences reflect an era of aviation shaped by risk, independence, and life in isolated communities.

The evening includes a live talk followed by a book signing, with insights drawn from his career and co-authored work with Deana J. Driver.

Saskatchewan Aviation Museum

The Saskatchewan Aviation Museum offers an up close and personal experience with aircraft that have shaped Saskatchewan’s and Canada’s history.

From the early “bush planes” to the” Yellow Wing” trainers of World War II, we strive to remember our aviation pioneers. Volunteers restore and conserve aircraft, document artifacts and photographs, keeping once-commonplace skills and manufacturing techniques from vanishing.

There’s something for everyone, together with guided museum tours and flight simulators, the museum is designed to engage and inspire the public of all ages.

Come visit, browse the museum or book a guided tour for yourself, a group, or a class of students. Discover a wealth of history in our aircraft hangar, displays and flight simulators.
