Description: Financial planning can be daunting. This course provides class members a solid foundation toward beginning to understand the complexities involved. Course topics include political and legislative Implications to Investing (SECURE Act), investments, estate planning, elder abuse, and behavioral finance.
The course will be taught over a 5-week period.
Instructor Bio - Doug Bazley is a Certified Financial Planner practitioner and has earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) designation from the College for Financial Planning. He graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with dual majors in finance and accounting. Doug has over 20 years of experience in the areas of investments, estate settlement, and retirement plans. Prior to Parsec, Doug worked as a Retirement Consultant for Prudential Retirement and the Transamerica Corporation alongside two large healthcare organizations where he helped thousands of health care professionals.
Instructor Bio -Anna Bruder is a Certified Financial Planner practitioner and a Financial Paraplanner Qualified Professional. She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Science in exercise and sports science as an athletic trainer. She started at Parsec as a client service specialist before moving over to the financial planning team as a paraplanner. Prior to joining Parsec, Anna worked for orthopedic practices in Atlanta and in Asheville assisting physicians, surgeons, and patients. Anna grew up in North Carolina and enjoys spending time with her husband, exploring the outdoors with their dog, and traveling.
Instructor Bio -Terry Redman holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Tulane University and has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2014 and a Certified Financial Planner practitioner since 1995. Terry is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She began her career as a consumer banker, working for a large national bank. Prior to joining Parsec in 2019, Terry was involved with the preparation of individual, partnership, S-Corporation and C-Corporation tax returns for a regional public accounting firm. Terry and her husband have two children and try to enjoy as much live music in Asheville as they can fit in.
