Description:  Swedish weaving is a very old art form dating back to the 17th century. Originally poplar in the United States during the 1930s and 1940s this practice is being revived, becoming popular once again. Swedish Weaving is the art of weaving beautiful designs on fabric using yarn to create afghans, wall hanging, pillows, table runners and more. This class series will cover beginning Swedish weaving with a basic pattern, making a finished product, a 20x20 pillow. Fabric (Monk Cloth), yarn, scissors and a blunt needle will be supplied to this class. In six weeks we will have a finished 20x20 pillow. Although Swedish Weaving has visually complex and appealing patterns, in practice it is actually quite simple and rewarding.
