The United States Space Force organizes, trains, and equips Guardians for global space operations to enhance joint and coalition forces and offer military options for national objectives. Patrick Space Force Base is led by Major Gen. Purdy Jr. and hosts Space Launch Delta 45 with over 30 mission partners and tenants. The base operates a space fleet with Atlas V, Delta IV, and Falcon 9 and processes satellites such as GPS and SBIRS. The Eastern Range spans 15 million square miles.
The vision of the base is to be the world's premier gateway to space, and its mission is to deliver assured space launch, range, and combat capabilities for the nation.
The base is also home to the Radical Advancement Directorate with three pillars: Digital Transformation, Data Integration, and the Forge Spark Cell. The Forge is the first Spark Cell in the U.S. Space Force. It provides a platform for Guardians and Airmen to submit and develop solutions to issues within their organizations, focusing on innovation and problem-solving. The Forge aims to create a culture of innovation and collaboration by offering the necessary resources and network of experts to improve quality of life, mission efficiency, and operational effectiveness.
