This class helps students understand how levels, tones, and underlying pigment work together so formulations are created with intention—not guesswork.
By grounding formulation decisions in color theory, students will learn how to approach color services with greater confidence, consistency, and predictability. This course serves as the foundation for advanced color classes, including the Formulation Nation series.

The Advanced Academy is a modern cosmetology, barbering, and esthetics school dedicated to raising industry standards through advanced education, hands-on training, and real-world career preparation. Since 2021, we’ve offered workshops for everyone—from beginner students to advanced professionals—and welcome all attendees, whether or not they’re enrolled students, to continue learning, growing, and elevating their craft.
