Description

Interested in woodturning but unsure of where to begin? Let instructor Jeff Luedloff demystify the lathe and give you the confidence and knowledge to begin!

This discussion and demonstration-based class will cover everything from safety and setup to wood sourcing for projects. The instructor will provide an overview of different lathe types, parts and tools, and demonstrate proper operation. You'll learn how to select a blank, mount a workpiece, and determine the appropriate speed for your project. After the demonstration and discussion, participants will get some guided hands-on experience at trying various cuts. Bring your questions as this is the definitive introduction to the lathe and woodturning class.

Meet the instructor: Jeff Luedloff

Jeff's woodturning journey began at the age of 16 with a rescued old lathe from a junkyard. He has been an active member of the Minnesota Woodturners Association and the American Association of Woodturners since 2001. Jeff has extensive experience teaching and enjoys sharing his love of turning.
