Join us for a FREE Summer Solstice Wine Tasting while we learn about the wine and terroir that comes from the island of Sicily!
The lovely Lauren from Cardinal Distributing will be showcasing the unique wines from Siciliy. Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea, and although it is a part of Italy, Sicily’s breadth of landscapes approximates a small country itself. Sicilians have been making wine since 4000 BC. Its dry, warm climate features regular sunshine and moderate rainfall that suits wine production perfectly. Instead of producing the common, international varietals, Sicilian winemakers tend to focus on their local grapes, many of which you have never heard of, but that you will be able to taste and learn about for this one evening. Sicilian grapes include: Grillo, Nero d'Avola, Nero Mascalese, Catarrato, Malvasia, Frappato, Carricante, etc..
Guests will be able to sample through, and learn about 5 Sicilian wines (free of charge). After tasting the wines, guests will be able to purchase a glass to enjoy on site, or bottles to stock up with at home.
The tasting will run from 4pm - 9pm. Come and go as you please! Order additional wine, beer, and food while you are here. Learn and have a great time!
