Description

The staff at Catawba Riverkeeper has invited friends and family to an exclusive fundraiser on Saturday, August 6 at The Boathouse.

We hope you’ll join us for some on the water fun, beer, food, and music as we raise money to support Catawba Riverkeeper’s work to protect our waterways.

Kayak tours will be hosted throughout the day with a party afterwards from 6-9pm with live music, a food truck, and cold beverages! You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch or dinner with you and purchase beer, non-alcoholic beverages and ice cream inside The Boathouse.

Guided Kayak Tours

South Fork Rapids

Guests are invited to join the Riverkeeper, Brandon Jones, on a guided tour through the South Fork Rapids for 2.5 miles at 11 AM, 3 PM, or 6 PM. Expect Class I and Class II rapids. All equipment (sit on top kayaks, paddles, PFDs, helmets) and shuttle service provided. This experience is great for intermediate paddlers, 12 years and up.  Max capacity is 12 guests per time frame. Times: 11-12:30pm, 3-4:30pm and 6-7:30pm.

Program Director, Vanessa Covington, will lead a tour on the flatwater section immediately upstream of the Boathouse. The group will launch at 10:30 AM. Single and tandem kayaks available. You can choose to bring your own kayak and gear if you like. Great for all skill levels. Must be 8 years and up to paddle a single kayak and 4 years or older to ride along in a tandem kayak.
