Full-Day Bonsai Demonstration with Jim Doyle
Cape Fear Bonsai Society
Date: Sunday, September 27
Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: OLLI at UNCW
Join the Cape Fear Bonsai Society for a full-day bonsai demonstration with Jim Doyle of Nature’s Way Nursery.
During this in-depth program, Jim will work on a single bonsai provided from his nursery, styling and refining the tree throughout the day while discussing his design process, technique, and long-term development strategy.
The extended format allows participants to observe the complete progression of a bonsai transformation—from initial evaluation and design decisions to wiring, pruning, and refinement. Jim will share insights and answer questions throughout the day as the tree evolves.
A lunch break will be held from 11:45 AM to 1:15 PM. We will arrange a group reservation at Okami, which is within walking distance, and attendees are welcome to join.
This event is suitable for both beginners and experienced bonsai enthusiasts and offers a rare opportunity to spend the day learning from a highly respected bonsai professional.
Attendees may also be interested in the Literati Bonsai Workshop with Jim Doyle on Saturday, September 26, which is offered as a separate event with limited participation.
Guests are welcome.
